Baur rear window

The wife`s away, the lad`s away, just me and the cat and a decent day outside.
The Baurs window has been crap since I have had her so plans were set into place a few weeks ago to replace it not by stitching but using glue !!
Firstly a sheet of 0.5mm PVC was ordered and arrived on a roll.
Next was the adhesive , what the hell to use ??
After much thought my wife suggested we went boating so I got in touch with a company called "Polymarine" in Wales and they sent me some two part glue just made for sticking stuff to or fixing dingy`s .
The rear part of the roof came off the car so easy it was a breeze as in two nuts inside and screws on the outside and in the house it went.
I used a scalpel to cut the old screen away from the hood and then used that as a template to cut with scissors but allowing at least 12mm extra all round.
This was then coated with the glue (now if you are into glue winkeye this is for you but for Christ sake leave all doors and windows open) and left for 30 mins to dry.
The inside of the hood was then given three coats of glue (I`m quite happy by then) and also left to dry for the same time.
I very carefully then offered up the new screen , bearing in mind this is contact adhesive and pressed it in place firmly and the results are spot on.
This is not coming off !!!
OK it`s not OEM but all for less than £50 it`s bloody great and I can see through the screen.
I`ll pop some pic`s up when I put it back on.

Cheers Mart.
