E30 Zone

Morning all,

Question to see people's views on where e30s are heading.

Do you think these cars will be worth more in 10 -15 years time? And will people still consider them desirable classics?

Reason I ask was cos I'm considering storing mine when I've had my fun and keep in mint condition for my son who is 8 now but loves the e30 more than our daily drivers in our Audi and focus.

Hopefully a small asset for him- he can do what he wants when he is 18.

It looks like your son already has good taste in cars!

I would imagine the prices would slowly creep up when all the bad ones are crushed.

History repeating itself!! I remember my neighbour haa beautiful diamond Schwartz black 325i sport. He was a proper yupee worked for NEC phone co - he had a car phone in it too. It was a company car- was beautiful

We all nagged my dad to get one - he did in the end but it was a 316 lol - when I passed my test I did it proper and got myself a d reg sport in grey- only to be written off 2 years later - novice driver behind a beast lol

Prices have risen quite a bit over the last couple of years definitely and will continue to rise as more cars drop out of the old banger daily driver system. I dont see how you can lose by preserving a good one - especially if you have the space.

Agree with all above, prices have certainly shot up over the last couple of years - its supply and demand and as the cars age and they become less abundant they will continue to rise yet.

It'll be the same as with any car that quickly becomes a desirable classic, at some point prices will plateau with only really good examples and desirable car continuing to rise at a slower rate. All the tat that is currently over priced will fall to where it should be.

I agree, same situation with any desirable classic. The recent price hike has been accelerated by the "lifting them out the gutter factor" as decent e30s have moved from old banger status to classics. Probably rise a little more and level out in my view, then creep upwards or down with the classic car market.
