Rare ?

Hi guys,
I have a Brilaint red J reg 318is and was wondering how rare it is ? I've been told only 13 J reg 318is were made. Found it hard to beleive so I thought I'd ask you guys

I believe there to be more than that. Probably as rare as any J Reg 2 door e30 I'd say.

I think IS's are a bit rarer, according to CarCountUK there are 975 on the road still. Not sure what reg though.

Sounds about right to me - a J plate 'loon is a rare beast. E30 Tourings and Convertibles were in production longer. Remember, the first E36s were on H plates. Blimey I'm getting old, where did the last 25 years go?

The E30 318iS are generally on G or H plate and as far as I can see, the ETK only lists the 318iS until May 91 making the last on the H, but some could of been registered late making them early J plates.
Pop the ViN into one of the online ViN decoders should tell you what you've got.

It's defiantly an IS. I beleive its registered August 1991, any way I can find out how many were built or still around ?

Reg doesn't mean much. It could have sat around for a couple of years on a dealers lot for all you know.
Plug the chassis code into realoem and get the build date

Either way it's as desirable as any other 318is, the reg makes no difference at this age. It's all about condition.
