Really sorry to hear this :-( keys to your E30 I'm assuming? How about initially retracing your steps to try and find them/ ask if any keys have been handed in at any pub or club you were at? Failing that ask at the local Police station to see if they have been handed in? If you have a spare key at home get someone to run the key out to you so you can get the car shifted (assuming your not over the limit) or get someone to move the car home with your spare key?

Hope you find them ok

Kind Regards

Mr-Lachs

If they turn out to be really lost, then ordering a new master key from BMW is the obvious way to go.

Not the end of the world, take your v5 to BMW and order a new key, might take a while this time of year.

The problem with going to BMW for a new master key is you are assuming it's on the original lock set. At 20+ years old, many of these turds won't be :(

It's worth a shot though. Is the door deadlocked? If not, and the barrels aren't original, pulling the windscreen out is probably the easiest way of getting into an e30

That may get him in, but it still won't be going anywhere. Keys are lost, not locked inside.
In my experience, most E30s are still on the original lock sets, and where they're not (car needs two different keys?), the ignition switch will be original, along with the glove box.

Yes it make get him inside to replace the barrel/open doors if needs be.

Just use a spoon like Top Gear :)

there's lots of mobile key cutters, that can come out to you, and use a tool that reads the inside of the door barrel, and then cut you a key on the spot.

Take the lock out of the door and go to a locksmith with it, did this recently had a key minutes later

Remove door card, remove barrel C clip, remove barrel from outside of door, get in other car, drive to locksmiths, present said locksmith with barrel, ask for key to match, locksmith gets busy behind the scenes and emerges minutes later with key and a bill :thumb:

Hahaha. Thanks. I thought the problem's getting into the car in the first place.

Personally speaking, I like to sort things out in some sort of order. :)

Cheers for all the help guys ! What would I do about my central locking fob also ? Luckily the car is in the garage at the minute with no engine so no worries about driving it but obviously I'm gonna be screwed when the engine goes back in with no key. Thanks again for all the help. Merry Christmas !! aŽ„aa»

Easiest way out of that one is a nice new remote locking kit from Rightclick, that comes with two (or more) fobs, complete with BMW key blanks, that can be cut to match your brand new key from the dealer.
