Any pics of the VIN tag ? or last 7 of the VIN
Buying a convertible, especially a Motorsport without doing a BMW spec check is brave / foolish at best !

VIN into one of the on line ETKs will show what it should be, but what 'auto' and 'motorsport' would be doing in the same model description is a mystery to me.

Link to the advert?
It's a motorsport colour.
Only real way to check which has been mentioned above is to get the VIN number checked by BMW.

Even h.p.I comes up Motorsport and color correct .I think its still an aftermarket tech 2 kit though .no certs of transmission change and 19 owners blimey .but does that reflect the price tag thank you .

I know you have to buy on condition of the car, but 19 previous owners would concern me.

Seats are black leather so are door cards and rear trim .19 owners I agree is a bit much .at least on h.p.I check mileage was recorded at 127000 as of now and previous owners recorded also so mileage was on check through years .price is right I feel .I think if it was a 3 owner car with history and in perfect condition I would have to double my money .

Convertibles always tend to have more owners, remember it is over 25 years old now !
If the car checks out and is rust/fault free, then it might be a good purchase>?

Has it got black bubble leather seats and stitched back leather door cards and centre console?

Exactly... Would have been sold off at the end of every summer more or less which is common for convertibles imo.

No its not bubble leather but its black leather so are door cards etc and has m sport stripes on corner of each seat like most m sports have .got heated seats too .and I agree 24 years old people may just have this as toy and get bored .me I want to keep it iron out a few things .make it perfect and standard .seems ive had mixed responses maybe a good purchase after all .

Thats not a genuine motorsport interior. The only convertibles that had black leather seats with M sport stripes on the corner of each seat were M3's.
The second batch of Motorsport convertibles which were Nagaro silver or Macau blue had the same style of interior but in silver grey leather.
The car in question, being a H reg it should be Sebring grey with Black bubble leather with black leather door cards and centre consoles and an electro hydraulic roof if its a genuine Motorsport.
Exactly the same as this one for sale.

It may be a motor sport but at some point seat and cards have been changed. Not really sure if it is a good buy. Going to be very hard get correct motor sort seats ect. U could for the money buy a mint cab with a good spec for that price mark. Motors sport came with lsd most with electric roofs 2 colours ect blue grey and different seats door cards and sport suspension I think that's it. [/u]

Elf, I thought you were looking for a turd with 'investment' potential ?

A molested 19 owner cab whose ownership history undoubtedly reads like a page from the High Wycombe phone directory is probably not that car........

No. Interiors were fixed with no options available on motorsports.
The HPI check will just have the same as whats on the V5 as thats where it gets its info.
The cars description can be changed on the V5 as far as I'm aware.
The ONLY way 100% to confirm weather its a genuine motorsport convertible is to check the vin with BMW as this can not be changed.

Walk away from that for that price. Trying to get a decent original interior would be nigh on impossible and 19 owners???? Petes right, if you are looking for the right car, that ain't it!
