Hi all its been a long time since I had to sell my show car for circumstances out of my control.
I've still stayed an avid member and seen so many old go and new come.
For me its a question of buying a perfect 325 I sport m tech 2 with full history .rare maybe . I've looked on every website possible and some of the prices from dealers asking up to 18 k for a Motorsport .have I lost touch this much in 5 years they have gone up so much .I thought the 10 k cash I have accumulated would get me the best available from what I've seen 10 k may just get me an 1989 tech 2 which still needs a bit of work to make it a show stopper .please all advise if in 7 years since I sold my sport for 3.5 k they have risen quicker than a house .thanks gaz

They have risen massively in price, but £10k should get you a very nice example if you are prepared to wait for the right one to come up.

10k will secure a good one , just go view as many as it takes to find what you need .

you should know what to look out for after owning one .

10k wil buy you a nice one , but a sub 5ok mile one would be in the region of 15 to 20 grand

Yes they have gone up more % than houses, I read a thing on investments over the last 8 years, Higher interest rates for savers will kill it but can't see them coming on too fast either.

When you say 10k plus needing work to make it a show stopper would it be the same style of show stopper as the last one?

I wonder if Maxpower modZ or wide body kits will come back into fashion. As Brian said in another thread, 'Wheel of fashion'.

Scary thought.

I see a lot of you purists still here then.
It doesn't matter what I do to my car its mine .
I didn't care then and don't now what anyone thought .
Its went to someone in London.still around I think.
I love the fact that since I sold it in 2008 people still talk about it makes a good read .
You guys make me laugh .

I don't think it's got anything to do with being a purist

It's about what looks good and what doesn't

That it self is very subjective

I'm not a purist in the slightest and that still looks shit. But each to their own!

I think it looks good, with the exception of the front bumper. The beefed up side profile and wheels look 8)

Anyone remember that zoner who had that blue modified sport on here around 8 years ago. He spent a ton of money on that as well. 2.7 with those Diblias throttle bodies. I think he got less than 3k for it on back around 7 years ago as that's all it was worth then.

I might just buy one and muller it for the fun of it.
Seems you guys love to have a talking point about each others cars .
Or I might just buy one and store it to keep for my pension fund .
Either way any e30 always up for many debates regardless of what we do with them .
Anyway back on post .who's got a perfect sport for 10 k cash they want to part with .

Why don't you buy a half decent one for around £5k and spend the rest getting it into pristine condition?

Your choice and your money ultimately but should you have to sell it again a molested car will not be worth a toss.

No one gives a shit what you do, get over yourself. And no one will sell a perfect sport for £10k. You will get a very nice example for that much though.

my mate bought a really nice red 90 sport in Lancashire this spring for 5600 quid. manual in brilliant red with good wheel arches, worn silver cloth interior.he fitted a mint black leather sports interior , he's just sold it because he's about 6foot 6/19 stone and the manual wasnt comfortable on longer trips. the guy who bought it wanted the silver cloth interior back in it as it was "original spec sheet". maybe he got it before the big increase in values. but it was a nice motor for less than six bags.

All jokes aside guys had my fun with this post now.I know I won't get a perfect unmolested sport for 10 k probably .but I would like history and maybe a bit of cosmetic work.but as I stated before not gonna modify want an original to keep for my retirement investment and keep my shitty runaround diesel ford .gonna only use my sport for summer maybe couple shows .rest of time it will stay garaged..thanks all for your nice words of wisdom lol.
