325i Convertible

Hi,
I am new here and looking for some help.
I am considering buying a 1998 E30 325i convertible and I am struggling to find what came on the car as standard. Can someone point me in the right direction of where I can find what was standard and what was an optional extra?
Also any advice on things to look for and whether I should hold out for a Sport convertible.
Steve

If you give the registration number to BMW I'm pretty sure they can give you a spec' sheet of what the car had when it left the factory. Don't bother holding out for a sport convertible as they never made such a model!

As said, BM should be able to provide a build-sheet for you. Ideally quote them the VIN if you can get it.
Plenty of advice on here about to what to out look for - rust is the key.
Motorsport cabs are rare, nearly all auto and prices seem to be £13k+. Depends on your budget and what you're after really?
Whereabouts are you?

£5k sounds a reasonable budget, you're in good useable car territory. Loads advertised at the moment, it's a case of which ones actually look like the car described in the advert.
For me I like history, originality and top of the list as little rust as possible. Better a solid car in the wrong spec than a rotter because you like the bits fitted to it. Finally don't be too driven by mileage, high mileage cars are fine if the history's there and they've been maintained.
Good luck with the search. Had my '88 325i cab nearly two years now and absolutely love it. Originally bought it with half a mind to flip it but it just got under my skin and replaced my Honda Del Sol as my fun car. I prefer driving it to my E93 daily, it just is more fun.

i have the povertyspec 318i cab on 14's and a well specced 325i cab on 15's. i actually prefer thrashes about in the runt with a 4 banger upfront on backroads. dont write off a good 318, they are 90% of the car 100% of the time and handle well with reasonable mpg.
