Bagged Chromie, thoughts?

I knew this car before the current owner bought it. It was a lovely thing, Pine houndstooth & Hartge wheels

It's getting a lot of love, have I missed something? I think it looks crap. It was much nicer before the new owner made his 'mark'.

He's destroyed. Its not like it can be reversed. The arches would have been molested.

Don't think the arches were touched. There is talk of custom wheels from BBS, look forward to seeing them replace the tat that it's wearing now.

You only get the love on social media if your motor follows the scene trends (hangs head at that phrase), which seems to be bagged suspension. Could be worse, could still be in the Max Power era!

Imagine being the only person to call it out as a scene turd. If you don't join the mass love in/Dutch Rudder fest, o they don't like it.

The 'scene' in the late 60's was 'dumped up front',to achieve this look,we all needed longer rear spring hangers on our A35's and Anglia's!

:o:

sad but true, everyone seems to be going for it,

lost count of how many times a car pops up on the zone fb page thats been "bagged" as they put it, getting a bit common now, how long before someone "bags" their dog??

as for the OP's posted car, would look a lot better with some decent wheels, not hotwheels look a likes.

also malc, that "look was going on well into the 80's on mk2 escorts.

It used to be mine :(
I sold it on it's original 14" BBS wheels. I did only pay £357 for it on eBay from a dude in Doncaster

Did you sell it to a questionable looking man from NI?

No, it went to at least two people between me and going to NI - the twat who bought it off me was from south London (I left some stuff including my TomTom under the drivers seat. I rang him when he could only have been 200m away and he hung up on me and never answered me again!)

It then turned up in a BMW mag as part of a collection of E30s I think in the North West.

It was very clean - I sold it on 60 something thousand miles - other than strangely a big hole in the bulkhead behind the glovebox. The scuttle, inner arches, roof and rear panel were all original and mint. The engine ran like a Swiss clock and was much quicker than a facelift car that I had prior.

 I'd imagine that bulkhead hasn't been repaired, out of sight, out of mind etc.

The current owner is putting a lot of money into it, wouldn't be worth saying anything, would only stir up more shite.

I know the car well - it belonged to a mate of mine with the E30 collection. It wasn't a bad car but it needed a new cam. It didn't have the front spoiler then, and was a standard 320i.

Looking at the above 'enhancements' I daresay it still needs a new cam.

Oddly enough, the same mate who rescued it also rescued a 525e that was also ruined by a stance type. Only they really destroyed that one and the car was written off, no doubt after bouncing off a speed bump.

The previous owner added the Tech 1 spoiler and M535i spoiler, He bought it to sell.

Current owner just added new rimz and air. His car, he paid Tech 1 money for it.

I like it. But then I'm broad minded. His car, his money, his choice so in reality, what anyone else thinks is irrelivent.

As long as the car is heavy enough. Bag away. Got no qualms whatsoever, handling is identical.

Those eBay wheels though..... Absolute garbage.

I was talking to the guys that 'bagged' said turd today, at a show. They had it on their social media as a '325i Msport', apparently the seller described it as such. You'd think he would have known better being an employee of BMW ( :) ) but the above comments are correct. His car, his choice. I was asked my opinion on it & gave it, willingly, image is subjective. Don't mistake anything other than love as an attack. Even if my contribution was harsh. I've been told by a mutual friend that he has interesting developments in the pipe line, wheels above are temporary, so I'll gladly eat my words when the finished specimen is unveiled.

The dealership he works for is one of the best in the country and he's apparently a really sound, nice guy....

With questionable taste. :D

Time will tell.
