Can anyone tell me the stock weights of both the 320is and the 325is. I searched all last night and kept gettin garbage. This may result in some extra funds for the hopefully soon to come 325is.

There's no such thing as a 325is unless you mean the 325i sport.

The 325i Sport will be heavier due to the 6-pot engine and bodykit whereas the 320iS had a version of the M3 4-pot engine.

In my owners manual is says 1180kgs for a 2dr 325i with a full tank of fuel and ready to drive. Auto is 1200kg.
This does not include the weight of mtec kits etc. I'm sure i've seen figures of 1275kg for a sport, don't know about 320iS as that is a rare beastie

Anyone with US spec will prob be heavier still with federal bumpers

As Adam says the 325i sport is heavyier due to the engine and extras. Have you won the bet then?

Or you live in Australia or some other countries where there is an E30 badged and sold as a 325is and it is the same as the 325i sport I think.

http://www.e30.de usually has most details for E30s, but I can't find the specs you need unfortunately.

Yes we also have the 325is here in the states, it is our version of the 325i sport.

BMW lists 325is Unloaded weight at 2815lbs or 1277kg

I was able to take a quick scan of the page from my manual which lists the US 325 weights. This was taken from a 1987 325i manual (56K Beware).

YESS, i knew it. My dad was trying to tell me the 320 was heavy, maybe compared to his old 318. So he eventually told me that if i was right he would come with me to buy the 325 and he'd help pay for it. So we'll see how that ends up and i'll keep you guys posted. And yes i'm in the states which gives us the iS model. Now the major deal with this will be finding a good alternative to the aluminum junk bumpers. Our good friend owns an autobody shop so tweaking and modifying bumpers and such won't be a problem if it's the look i want. Mtech's are hot but damn expensive so i was thinking about trying to get some plastic bumpers the sideskirts and fit em. Thanks for the help though guys.
