I wound say that was a horrendous quote given your circumstances.

I don't know how much you were paying before, but to be honest, that's not a bad price for a 325i, being 23 years and with only 3 NCBs...

That's for London, by the way. It might be an expensive quote for smaller cities.

£1100 isn't bad, compared to my quotes from major insurance companies.

You must have been a really bad boy as Adrian Flux specialise in drivers with a, chequered?, driving record.

Have you tried the National Farmers Union? I'm insured with them now and it was A LOT cheaper.

Was about to say the same! When I was that age, I would of killed for a quote like that.

Is it your only vehicle to use? That makes a big difference, my 325i SE is second car. I'm 23, in derby, 0 NCB (new separate policy) with Adrian Flux, 5000 miles, £660. All mods declared. Agreed valuation of £5k, and they threw in 3rd party driving on other cars (never been offered that before because of age).

Id take £1100 that's really cheap! I'm 28 4yr ncb, garage, 2 other cars and live in Surry £700 with Adrian Flux but it is a 3.8L :/ and got a few naughty's on licence back in 2012. When I was 23 I paid £1800 on my first 325i touring I only paid £650 for the car!!

Surprised to read that. I spend over £2000 a year on insurance with the NFU, but it doesn't include motor insurance - their quote for that is three times what I actually pay.
However, when and if it does come to making a claim, they are exemplary. They actually actively look for ways to support your claim, assisting you to fill out forms without dropping yourself into the doo doo, instead of the more usual 'any excuse to get out of paying'.
A cousin of mine who is insured with them was involved in a single vehicle accident last month (he actually managed to run over himself with his own car), and they arranged a taxi to take him home from the scene, a hire car delivered the next day, and had his own car fully repaired and back with him in a week and a half.

You think £1,100 is bad? When i was 21/22 i tried to insure my 3.5 converted E30 and i was getting quotes around the £5,000 area! 8O No joke!

Being over 25 helps so you might need to bite the bullet and spend a bit extra untill then :thumb:

Have you asked for a quote for a fictitious unmodded 325i E30? (To identify whether the problem is the mods. or just the 2.5 engine.)
Do you live on your own, with parents, partner, shared accommodation, etc?

Try putting someone unrelated to you who doesn't live at the same address as you on the insurance - when my ex was 22/23 she used to have her dad on her policy (living at same address) which reduced her premium from £800 to £600, but when she put me on it (living at different address) it reduced the premium to £410

I am as surprised as anyone but I was cornered by a chap at a Young Farmer shindig and he sorted it for me.

Good to hear their customer service is exceptional. Fingers crossed I'll not have to find out for myself.

Currently have a claim being processed with them for £2000 of water that has escaped through an underground leak over the last couple of years, so, depending on the outcome, I might revise that appraisal soon!

NFU is the insurer that allowed me to transfer a car insurance policy of mine that hadn't been used for nearly two to my 17 year old daughter a few years ago. The policy was complete with 70% NCD, so my daughter started her motoring life with this in place, giving a considerable saving on her premium for the first couple of years.
I remained the policy holder, but my daughter was named as the main driver.
After three years, with no claims, and evidence of those no claims, she moved on to a policy of her own with another insurer.

I think this really all depends on what was wrong with your insurance in the past.

Insurance companies are going to see you as a very high risk.

I am assuming you have tried the aggregator websites? if they're all consistent in price, you're historical issue is biting you and you're unlikely to escape it until it's spent .
