Insurance claim

Where I live has a communal car park for the houses, was looking out of my window earlier and saw a woman in a micra smash into my 316 and into a neighbours golf after trying to fit into a gap about half a car width wide, I got the whole thing on video and got her admitting it on video, and have taken pictures of both cars and all my shiny Brilliantrot pain down her front bumper :(

I'm going to need a new wing mirror, black plastic bumper trim, front wing and paint and labour costs. I have her insurance details but I'm worried
1. If I claim, will the damage done be likely to write my car off?

2. If I claim off of her insurance, will my premium go up, because I've heard it does and ive heard it dosent.

Thanks in advance.[/b]

I'm only 19 so can't really afford for the premium to go up, so unsure what to do.

Sadly, the answers are likely to be yes and yes. Ideally you should get her to fork out a couple of hundred from her own pocket, and do your repairs yourself (all simple bolt on stuff), using parts in the right colour off a breaker on here, but if she's bent a Golf as well, and has to make an insurance claim for that, she'll want to claim for yours as well.

Thanks Brian; unfortunately I don't think she is going to pay a penny out of her pocket due to her seeming very council and the amount of dents on her car already haha  , although I will ask and see what I can do, she probably did 1k damage to the 64 plate golf, what sort of money would I be looking at for repairs?

She's not going to pay cash for the Golf, so there's absolutely no advantage to her in paying you cash.
Unfair as it may be, your best course of action may be to sort your repairs yourself, and keep it totally away from insurance companies. As I said above, it's simple DIY repairs that you can do yourself, and you may find some sympathy (in the form of parts at rock bottom prices) from one of our fraggers, or someone doing a one off breaker on here.

Jesus Christ if she managed to do that then she shouldn't be in charge of a kiddies trike let alone a car !

I see a badly repaired crusty drivers wing and some already scuffed bumper trims , including pics of the rear o/s . What am I missing ? :?
None of that damage appears to be related to her stupidity and unless she got out and kicked your mirror, I think you will have a job convincing the insurance people, or any one else , otherwise.

Haha nope the pictures of the trims were uploaded ages ago, completely unrelated, but she was completely unfazed by the whole thing like she does it every day haha
