How effective is an IS rear spoiler?

Hi guys,
Just wondering, does an IS rear lip spoiler actually make much difference in terms of performance/downforce or is it more for a little show? It's so small I imagine you'd have to be going at some pace for it to really make much difference to an e30 without a spoiler at all?
Cheers,
Nick

It's cosmetic, about as much use as a c@ck flavoured lollipop.

One of them would be useful round these parts.

I thought that might be the case. Not that I'm thinking about c@ck flavoured lollipops mind! ;)
Cheers

With the sheer power of the m42 and m3 like race calibre , the spoiler and lip stops the car from launching in to orbit

BMW had the same problems with the iS that Audi had with the TT, they just chose to cover it up.
Using the baby M3 without the spoiler firmly attached is simply irresponsible.

I like the idiots that have rear spoilers on their front wheel drive cars.....

It's quite effective at impressing car geeks. Fuck all use for aerodynamics though..

Well according to BMW it relieved the upward pressure on the rear axle by 4% or so i read in a brochure.
Who cares!!! Put it on if you think it looks nice

The tilt function sunroof provides efficient downforce and is an effective way of helping put power down out of those medium speed corners........
