Anyone know where I can get a scale model of my convertible....
It seems you can get any number of different M3 models and racing E30s with mammoth body kits, but not a standard E30 convertible....
Please help...

Im a big BMW collector and ive never seen what your after anywhere. closest to it is the model you can win over on planete30.co.uk at the moment. Ԛ£1 gets you in the draw for an e30 M3 convert!

Yeah, not good is it...
I've thought of getting a two door hard top and cutting the roof off and all that, but I think that's sacrilege isn't it?

BMW themselves do a miniatures catalogue. Some of the models are the lifestyle shop, not E30 cab though. Closes I could find was a 2002.
Might be worth popping down to a dealer and see if the have a catalogue handy.

Its usually cheaper to buy direct from BMW that go to a model shop too!

Gama did several 1/43 scale E30 variants in the late 80's early 90's including a 2 door 323i in silver, a 325i touring in silver and a pre-facelift convertable in silver and also white. I have all of these except the white one which I gave to Lizzie at the E30 21st bash at Rockingham. They also did an M3 which came in (Henna?) red and also a racing version.
In 1/87 scale Herpa have produce a 4 door, touring and convertable, all post facelift, and an M3 in various versions including a rather nice rare Schnitzer S3.
Pauls Model Art (Minichamps) have a 1/43 scale 4 door listed on their website but this hasn't been released as far as I know, but fingers crossed they'll do the other bodystyles too!
You can also get a 1/32 scale Baur convertable, can't remember who makes it, but I have 2 silver ones and I've seen a white one about and personally I think this is one of the best E30 model's I've seen. It's a basic model but the shape is captured really well and some nice wheels from a Scalextric car would finish it off nicely!!
Hope this helps!!

Very nice.
What if I were to buy a white M3 and livery it up like that.....would it look stupid?

@zayyan,if it was done properly it would look well. Now i dont generally like white cars, and i dont like e30's in white but if i bought an e30 m3 i think i would buy a white one.Does anyone else think like me that the e30 m3 just looks so right in white, moreso than any other colour almost?
I think it's because a white m3 reminds me of those lovely white warsteiner liveried dtm cars, just without the livery!

When I was a very young kid I thought that people bought white cars so they could colour them in themselves
There are very few white cars that look good IMO, though when I get my M3 I'll be looking at brilliant red and alpine white with the intention of getting the latter stickered up.
You can't beat brilliant red though
