Chrome Exhuast Tips

Lost one of my exhaust tips a few months back, so been driving around with just the exhaust as is.. managed to source a fresh pair, very clean.. but now I've fitted them, they look kind of chavy and out of place.
I never minded it before they were lost, but now they stick out to me.
Cars an original SE but what's the history behind this? An SE option or standard?
Opinions?

For many many years now like all those gadgets. Shame really.. Think it would still sell today if reasonably priced.

I think the Crome ones are but you can get a shadow line mast new and just sand back and satin spray the mount of an old hirschmann and assemble. Just look for "sw" on the code for schwarz

i dont like the new chrome pipese either much, its not the blingy thing, they just look a little after market / town centre saturday market .99p. the shadow line black chrome ones are mint though, if these are NLA , does anyone do a after market repro set?. i need new ones for my 325. do the E36 ones fit? same diameter rear exit pipe? are they NLA? does anyone know if its an option on a newer model than the E30 and could be used??.

I thought only 45mm or 50mm was made for the genuine E30 exhaust pipes? The 50's being single piped... Or maybe that's just 320i's

Mine are 46mm. S-Eta has same double pipe exhaust as the later 320i's. Think the 50's are 325i as the pipes are thicker.
I might give this a try

I wouldn't go for them, as they don't resemble any E30 tips... These look more appropriate

I got the ones here:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=18&fg=20
It says they are 60mm. I haven't measured them but they fit my OEM back box.
Trouble is they are cut at a slant not square.

I want the square cut type.

No mines are nr 5 with the lip at the end which is convenient as i don't like the roundness tbh.

The best looking imo will still be to cut them off and chrome them. Also the backbox desperately needs sandblasting followed by a few coats of heatresistant silver before the rust gets any worse. Painted it when new 4 years ago

Looks the business with chromed endpipes! Should have done it then.
Cut them right about there at same length
