Convertible bike rack?

When I complete my m52 conversion I want to take my downhill bike with me and not rely on my mate with his van. I've been on the Thule website but have no idea which ones best and will fit? I need something substantial as downhill bikes are heavier than normal bikes and if one of my other mates comes along I want to be able to stick two bikes on :)

Cheers for the help in advance

Jon

My temptation would be to use a removable tow bar and towbar mounted rack.

My balfa is ~40lb and the hard tail is ~33lb so with both on a normal rack its pushing it a bit, I need to consider something similar for the E21 as i'm not comfortable resting the rack on the boot lid with that kind of weight.
Its certain to damage the paint if not the boot itself over a few long trips.

i have a tow bar mounted to the back of my 91 convertible. the tow ball can be removed and a 4 bike rack fitted. the thing works fine on light trailers and with 4 family bikes.
