I just need to be 100% sure that this is a correct place to put jack stands:
It's ok, you can laugh at me, but I really dont want to ruin my new E30, and I have never jacked up an E30 myself.

Jack stands where you have them puts a lot of strain on the rear beam bushes, BUT no more than a correctly fitted bush in good condition should be able to take. A better (but less safe) place to put them is under the large nuts securing the rear beam, just outside of where the stands are in your pic.

Thanks guys, I just needed to be sure.
Went all in to make sure I would be ok if something went wrong:

Nothing to be worried about asking, everyone has to start somewhere, I had the same worries when I first started tinkering with cars... I used to jack my car up through gritted teeth...

Another option is to make up a few packing pieces from plywood and use the rear cill jacking point for your stands.

That's what I have, and do, to raise the car with a jack, but you can't put stands in the same place as the jack!

I raise the car using either 'drive on' ramps or jack under the diff or the beam bush mounts to get the thing high enough to support by the cills.
I guess that it's personal choice just how you get the car high enough to work under in reasonable comfort.
Even my new 'man-cave' that is currently at foundation level will not be high enough to allow a 2 post lift!
