Rear screen cracked

The rear screen on my Baur has developed a crack , it is also a bit milky in places so what are my options ?
The fabric is very good and no holes so I`m a bit loathed to change it .

Can I get the screen replaced?

Mart.

I'm not too sure on the inferior Baur models, Mart. :)

I do know that the decent roofs had a stitched in rear screen, which is a difficult, but not impossible, to repair, and a zipped in version.

Heres the process on normal cabbies; don't know how well it applies to the FrankenBaur models.

Hmmm probably easier to replace the roof, despite the material being in good nick.

It`s a weekend toy so I dont want to spend too much on her.

Somewhere must do this

I only know of the place in Twickenham. No roof trimmers in leeds? I don't know about your car, but I'm sure they have to remove the roof to do this on a normal cabby.

I`ll have a look now at how to take the rear section off, as for roof trimmers in Leeds, dont know but I will get the better half to have a real dig.

Cheers, Mart.

It's easy to take the rear-roof of a Baur. I did this every winter, when I placed my hardtop.

But I doubt if replacing the window only is the right solution. For about 250-300 pound you can replace the fabric with it. If you do it yourself, which is much easier than on a normal cab.

If the hood can be removed so that it can be placed flat on a sewing machine base, all you need is access to an industrial sewing machine.

You must have a sewing factory type place within your home area somewhere,as you are based in Leeds,so all you need to do is to chat up an experienced machinist!

Chat up a suitable young lady, and the job may well be free.... :D
