Fluid inside trailing arms

I've been repairing the rear trailing arms.
Has anyone noticed a small plastic bung on the side near the hub/bearing area.
Out from the hole flowed an oily liquid which smelt flammable.
Does anyone know what it is.
Thanks

I had the same thing when doing my arms. I think it's some type if waxy oil. To prevent the arms rusting inside out as they are hollow

I remember this stuff when I refurbished my arms, I suppose a drop of thick oil would not do any harm and it is a cheap method as long as your plug is good.
Cavity wax is another option but that would dry off inside.

Just pour waxoil back in, if its sealed up with the bung it wont dry out, adding some engine oil will help too
