Got this with the intention of driving it for a bit & possibly doing a project on it. I have broken my arm so i am limited with what i can do & to be honest i have found a few areas of rust which has put me off, but overall it is a clean car.
It is a 316i, manual, clean from inside with a very clean dash. I fitted the mtech kit, minus the top bumper. Lowered it, steering wheel & hub. 117k miles, very good engine, better than most 316 cars iv driven. Pretty clean tailgate. Interior clean with only small tear on rear seat base & 4 headrest conversion.
It has MOT, bad bits are few spots of rust, drivers wing, small patch on sills, drivers side floor (surface rust), rear panel behind bumper has some rust. Drivers wishbone & possibly a track rod noisy. Also when you change gear the rear makes a noise like the propshaft bush or diff bushes shaking.
Overall its a pretty clean car with a good engine, been on motorway couple of times no problem.
Just want to know what its worth.
Thank you

Hi, funnily enough, I have been thinking about buying, or possibly buying, a BMW touring....I have read though that neither the E30 nor E36 are especially commodious..what sort of mpg does it deliver?...is it hugely frugal compared to the bigger engines?...

Normally a Tec 2 touring would go in the region of 1500 quid, considering yours is a bog-standard 4-pot model that doesn't even have front foglights.
But you've used the four-letter word: Rust. The car is now worth 200 quid, plus the combined value of any morsels that can be stripped from the shell.

Is the tec2 kit genuine BMW or is it an ebay kit?
Some details on the rust you have seen would help a lot in deciding if this car is worth stripping or fixing
It does look rather nice tho.
Cheers.
