I have just bought a E30 318I Design Edition Convertible. In Neon Blue with Mtec steering wheel and gear knob also 15" BBS alloys. I have been told it is a rare car and only 200 of these where made. Does anyone know it is this true? :D

I've heard the 200 RH drive model bit before, but I can't confirm that it's true. I can account for another of them though.

They are rare but not particularly sought after or desirable so don't get too excited ! :)

On the other hand a really nice standard rust free one is a rare find . Most are bodged pigs with drivers seats repaired using Transit bits and rear arches that need tigerseal for the magnet to stick :(

Motorsport Neon Design Edition Cabriolet,to give the poor thing's their full handle!

500 built in early 1991,it was intended as the 'run out' version off the cabbie, but the following E36 'vert' did not arrive until 1994,so E30 cabbie was built to order until 1993.
Of the 500,250 were neon blue,250 neon green.Off these,200 blue and 50 green were RHD,with 50 blue and 200 green LHD.
So the blue is rare in Euroland, the green rare in the UK.

My neon green, not quite standard as it has a 'proper' engine...seen here in Glencoe almost a year ago.

I've just put one in blue back on the road after 5 years in storage. Only got 70k miles and the interior is as new(honestly it's amazing). I've ran it most of today and are presently surprised as to the feel of the car. Well chuffed once and all I need now is the roof sorted.

I will post photos once the weather permits.

My mother had a K reg one when they were new, 1.8 auto, nice car but slow. Sounds like a bargain.
