you haven't said how old the M3 is but I'm guessing its an E30 so quite old?

cars like M3's do tend to have high owners, people who get bored, people scared by an ageing car with potential big bills, people realising they can't really afford to run them, etc etc,

10 owners on a three-year-old car would bother me, but ten owners on a car over two decades old is no issue at all; if any of those 10 neglected the car, then it would be nigh-on undriveable by now.

People put way too much value on abstract numbers that mean the square root of f-all.

I wouldn't really worry about owners unless it's an investment collectors piece (not sure why owners makes a difference on classics). I am sure whatever the issues are from previous owner you will be able to rectify (just look through some of the members build threads).

M3's are like a box of chocolates you never know what your going to get, considering with a box of chocolates your guaranteed chocolate, with M3's your guaranteed rust/bodge of some kind.

Problem with the M3's and all other E30's is that as soon as the 80's yuppies started off-loading these cars and they became available to the general penniless, but aspirational, losers everything went down hill... the E30's renaissance, and claim for classic status, is now bringing to light all the bodged shitters.
