I had to ask myself that question, as I don't ever have 500 quid spare, I always go for a higher quote with less excess.

Same here. I've been getting quotes for my 325i Sport and am getting around £150-£170 FC with a £200 compulsory excess, £0 voluntary excess. I'd rather pay an extra £30-£50 upfront than get lumbered with a £700 excess if the worst happens.

what car is it ? classic or normal policy ? milage ?

although there are so many variables, threads like this, more so with no mention of what car, spec, condition, value? /agreed value ? , are daft really, almost as daft as a £500 excess 8O

Snap, I had a MK2 Golf Gti as my 1st car paid £1700 for insurance, crazy, should have just done the normal 2nd driver route at the time.

1999 m sport 318 ti as my daily so I had to have a new policy on the Baur.
My better bit did the research and with a clean start with £150 excess and 3000 a year it came in (fully comp) at £101.64. Lancaster.

Nice.

Mart.
54 now.
