So I'll be checking out both these cars today:

car A
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/4034357835.html

car B
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/4039968387.html

Car A has a "rebuilt engine". Price tag:$2500 (1900 euros)I will ask the guy what he means. An engine rebuilt so itll run like new again? or built for power? QUESTION for you guys: what does a rebuilt engine mean to the 200000 miles he has on it? does it mean i shouldnt worry too much about the high mileage? or are there a LOT of other things i should be worrying about at 200000 miles.

But thats most of the info on the car. Can you guys think of anything else to ask based on the pictures?

Car B has a lot of work done on it and it looks like the guy knows a lot about his car. The price tag is 3500$ (2650 euros) which is a bit steep for me. But with all the fixes, perhaps this justifies the price? it looks like he has some pricey fixes in it so maybe? He says his price is firm so i don't think i'll be able to bring the price down.

I'm still pretty new to this so any input is appreciated. THanks!

Car A has a rebuilt cylinder head; a lot different from a rebuilt "engine" - it probably means the valve stem seals were replaced to prevent oil leaks, not much more. Call him and ask him if the cams were replaced if you're bothered by it. However, these engines are rock solid if looked after and high miles means nothing. As always, 100,000 city miles is much worse for an engine than 200,000 motorway miles.

As for Car B's rebuilt engine; not sure what you're asking us about - you state you will ask him, so do that.

Dunno why you're giving us the price in Euros - we use pounds over here, and either way I have no idea how much a dollar amount translates in terms of "cheap" and "expensive" to you guys.

What's REALLY important is that you read the E30 Wiki so that you know what you need to know, especially the Buying Guide:

Yes to the above and spend the proper money on a full HPI check.

I'm surprised the above 'guide' has absolutely no mention of that at all!
Losing £20 will be better than spending a few thousand on a car that's not true.
