hi does anyone have the koni adjustable shocks from the site shop, and if so how does the handling of the car change??? also is the price advertised, for one or for both units the fronts are like 100 pounds.

i have these, and have had them on previous cars. they're very stiff on the stiff setting, quite stiff - a bit more than factory - on the softer setting. i've had mine for many miles and they're still spot on and i wouldn't have anything over them really unless going for coilovers. i don't know about the price i'm afraid.

The Koni's are very good shocks. Price is each, they are not cheap! However your unlikely to find a better price than that anywhere.

So glad to here that!! I've just bought the kit (springs and shocks) for a track car, and wanted them to be able to go very stiff if required!!

By the way, i paid Ԛ£350 for the kit with springs through Demon tweeks.

Can you ge the part numbers of the Koni's you bought from Demon tweeks please. There are so many variations of them its unreal.

Zone shop has the ones with the shortened rod lengths which are a fair bit more cash then the normal ones.

Making your shocks super stiff is not going to make the car handle better, you may infact lose grip. You may experience steering response though.

Ive tried Koni's all round with good springs on all of their settings and its not as good as the H&R stuff when it comes to ultimate grip. The H&R's have the added bonus of not smashing your teeth if you hit a stone.

I have Koni adjustables in my 323i (not sure which sort) and I have tried turning them up to their maximum stiffness on the track and it did make the handling worse. It made the front skip across the corner on the bumps (I only adjusted the front becuase I have to take the rears off to change them, or at least lift up the car anyway). Playing with tyre pressures as well might have helped but I just turned the Koni's down a bit and it felt much better.

I had them on my GSI Astra and they turned a bad handling car into a reasonable handling one which I could throw into a corner and then slide the back end at will. It was great.
At max stiffness they were as Astondg says - a little too hard and they skipped around. Mine were set to about 3/4 and they were just nice.
It was great being able to adjust the handling of the car with them though.
I'd be very tempted to get them for the Sport as it needs new springs and shocks but everyone is raving about the H&R Cup Kit so I might get that instead.

When I had them I found them to be quite good on mediumj setting but I always found myself messing about with the settings.

I just took a set off my touring and replaced with the Cup Kit and I can take corners so much faster and the ride is better.

There is alot of people who have Cup kits on their cars and quite a few have been bought to replace other suspension setups like the Koni and Spax.

The shocks haven'tarrived yet but will let you know the part numbers.

I know that turning them up to their stiffest won't be the best setting, but was just wondering how stiff they would go, i was just concerned that i couldn't get them as stiff as required for track, but obviously if they go too stiff, then at least i know i will be able to get them where i want. Ideally i wanted Leda coil overs but hey were just to much Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£, but this set up is going to be far better than the worn satndard stuff i already have
