Clutch master cylinder gone again!

Just a heads up to avoid this particular part.

My clutch master cylinder went about a couple of months ago, I was pumping the pedal all the time to generate enough fluid pressure in the system. Anyway... It was replaced less than 500 miles ago (about 4weeks) and now its gone again.

Parked up fine, went in to a mates for an hour, came out. Clutch pedal was on the floor. After a poke about under the dash i noticed it had snapped at the top, where the cylinder connects to the top of clutch pedal near the coil return spring . The loop at top of piston rod and the rod itself have parted. Im guessing its failed under compression ie, stamping on the clutch pedal(i don't mean excessively)

GSF PART

E30 325i CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER
Item Number 716BM0032

Avoid it like the plague.

Hopefully i'll get it sorted in time for The German Show. Want to have a bash at it myself, but don't have the equipment to bleed after.

Quick question.
Should I do the slave at the same time, Ive not noticed any issues disengaging.
Thanks for any advise :)

How do I upload a picture?

Slave should be done the same time yes.

Febi/bilstein do master and slave cylinders which should be decent enough for your car.

Bleed the clutch like the brakes, If I remember correctly all you need is a 8mm spanner and a length of clear pvc/rubber hose to bleed the clutch.

Bad news about the master. Its a fiddly job to replace yourself but fairly straight forward.

I used this method to bleed my system, worked pretty well

G-Bear - that video is brilliant, just need to get the pump he has. Cheers for that, makes it all very clear. :)

You can reverse bleed the clutch hydraulics by connecting a tube between the bleed nipple on the front left brake caliper and the clutch slave bleed nipple, then pumping brake fluid back through the system.

I'm struggling to find a Febi/bilstein one, except from the USA and threw ebay, so i'm concerned it might be a fake.

Anyone know where I can get hold of one today?
What's the original BMW one like?
Thanks again

Does that mean that the fluid is bled round through the brakes from the reservoir, will it not take forever? Should i clean both connects between the tubing to avoid any gunk getting in?

Makes perfect sense, just Im not a mechanic, Ill have a go at most things, but until im underneath seeing it, sometimes it dont register and the light stays out :)

Still struggling to find a decent part

Make sure everything is clean if you reverse bleed.
