Replica Alpina wheels
Moderator: martauto
Hi folks, have been told numerous times that the 17" BK reps ruin the handling and I would notice a huge difference in the ride if I put 15" BBS's on. I must admit that they are rather heavy and I do want to improve the ride somewhat. The only thing is I don't actually like the 15" BBS wheels. The only style I like on an e30 is the Alpina multispoke look. Genuine Alpinas would be great and I think they would be a great investment but I'm just not comfortable paying over four figures at the moment. If a scabby set came along in need of a refurb came along then I could justify the outlay and have them refurbed at a later date, but until that opertunity arises I'm looking at my other options.
So obviously the BK's need to go and have just read that the RG Alpina reps are a good quality option. How often do these come up and how much should I budget for a mint set?
Also interested in the general opinion about the quality and effect on the handling

Contact Magpie on here, I seem to remember him having a set of these for sale recently, with regards to pricing, its what anyone is prepared to pay really, I'd say £400-£500 for a mint set.
Have you though about the 16" Hartge wheels?, again a timeless wheel for the E30, but cheaper than the Alpina variant.

I run a set of 15" OZ Alpina replicas, painted like the original black-centre Alpinas. You can pick a clean set up fairly cheaply.

16" RG reps are probably rarer than genuine Alpina's - Magpie and danthe are the only zoners I can think of who have/had them - very rare a set comes up for sale sorry
16" Hartge's are lovely especially on a saloon and are a nice alternative to genuine Alpinas

Not mine, but they're identical to this:jimf wrote:Have you got a link to a pic of them on your e30?

They're the same wheels fitted to the very first Touring, which is what I'm trying to make mine look like.
