Hi All
I am thinking of replacing my old front wings for some new rust free ones.
Has any one tried any particular makes, and if so what do you recommend.
Thanks
James

By far the best plan is to replace them with genuine second hand ones. In spite of the impression you might get on here, totally rust free ones do exist!

+1
Getting pattern wings to try and fit right is a ball ache and a time consuming job!

I'm in 2 minds about repairing mine to be honest but I think replacement ones are required. The only reason I wanted new was to avoid loads of time prepping for paint.
In a dream world I'd like to find a pair of immaculate cirrus blue ones... Please

Correct.
It would seem that the latest batch of BMW supplied front wings were pressed on tooling built in 1982....I'm told that it's the 'fit' around the headlight/grille that is the issue,so saving a few quid and still having aftermarket wings fettled by an expert bodyman could be the way to go,if a search for usable s/h wings fails.

So if the wings from BM are aftermarket quality are the rear quarters of similar quality?
