When they first test drive the purple Opel, watch the Cabin shake...

MK2s are still cool, albeit not as cool as a MK1.

I'm restoring an MK1 Astra at the minute, and people think they've E30s have rot issues!

Still got my twin headlight irmsher grill from a white GTE I had. 1 of seven I might add. But they were riddled with tin worm back then. They must all be dust by now just the shape held by the paint. I remember the 2.0 red top going in having a few blasts then the drive shafts popping free of the gearbox when the inner wing came adrift from the fire wall 8O

That's where mine had to be welded several times as well as where the suspension arm mounted. There was some spaz camber that would go on with the driver front wheel.

It didn't help that I had the front tyres fully lit up every time I left the college car park with the front end hoppng :)

It's called a Kadett everywhere except the UK. It's only us that use the Vauxhall name and names like Astra, Nova and Chavalier. Even in Ireland they were branded Opel. The only UK specific name that remains is the Astra, with the cav and Nova being updated with the euro names vectra and corsa.

Still the same old piece of crap with different badges on though

While we're on the subject then...........

My MK1 SR.......

And MK2 GTE......

Wobbly photo's of photo's!

GTE was pretty fast but the SR could out handle it in the bends no trouble, not sure what Vauxhall did to the GTE suspension, but it was shit!

Took the SR over a hump back bridge at 80 with four girls in the car once ( I was only 18!) not sure what screamed most, the girls or the chassis as it ground into the road upon landing 8O

Hey guys I am from SOUTH AFRICA.

These cars are ABSOLUTE legends over here. I HATE Opel, but the Supie...that is one damn sweet ride & on the streets they are mean as fcuk.

I actually own a 325is Evo 1

Motor is being rebuilt now & being stroked so waiting patiently for her to be back.

Some interesting facts.
Motor was co developed by BMWSA & Alpina hence had Alpina cams.
At the time the Evo 1 had 145kw. The Evo 2 got 155kw & had a modified 535i AFM fitted.
The Evo 1 came out with aluminium panels (bonnet, doors & fenders) & all 325iS's over here had E30 M3 suspension fitted so it had 5x120 BBS 15's

We sadly didnt get the E30 M3, but BMWSA made up for it with our own special version of the 325iS thanks to our local touring car series.

I do, have a mild guilty pleasure, but my Mrs is a full on Vauxhall nut, she'd love that MK1

I've loved the mk1's for 20 years since my first one at 17 years old. I'm planning on being buried in this one! lol I got the E30 so my wife can enjoy classic motoring without ear defenders!

Haha, she's coming round to the BMW way of life, but she'll always be Vaux through and through. Even her lottery winning garage would be full of nothing but Vauxhall. She wouldn't be needing ear defenders, she likes her cars loud
