E30 Zone

Hi folks

I want to upgrade to a Z3 rack on the E30 which currently has a manual rack. Been doing a fair bit of reading and there seems to be various opinions with most saying the Z3 rack is by far the best etc although some have concerns about twitchiness at high speeds.

Has anyone on here carried out this upgrade? If so was it straightforward or is some fettling required to make it fit? My car has the M20 block but I would like to upgrade to a bigger engine fairly soon. Will the Z3 rack have problems with clearance etc?

Advice would be greatly appreciated so I can have an easier time doing 3 point turns when necessary

Cheers mate yes I did have a read and its highlighted some things I will have to look out for. Was hoping to get user feedback as well from those who have carried out the upgrade, particularly if high speed twitchiness is an issue.

Not a popular upgrade then??
