parked my 320i on a slope today backend downhill and when i came to pull it back into the garage i noticed anoil patch the length of the car seems to be coming from rear sump/rear main oil seal when parked on level ground no drips??? anyone had this

You can't actually remove the sump from the car without either raising the engine, dropping the cross member or working blind over the side of the sump to remove the oil pump.
If you can manage to remove all traces of the old gasket, and not drop any into the pan, then it's not necessary to completely remove it.

to remove the pan and clean all the old gasket off etc you will need to lift the engine a few inches...its a pig of a job. :?
