I may be wrong here but have e30 values dropped a little? As last time I looked at buying one a few years back they seemed more expensive, seen a few nice is's gone for 1-1.5k of recent when I was looking 2 k was more the going rate.
Been out of the e30 scene for a few years (e34 e38 e36) etc looking to get back in one!

It's not necessarily a reflection of the hundreds being broken each year, more so that if you're lucky enough to own a nice 2 door or convertible why would you ever sell when it's highly unlikely you'll ever find as good an example?

Shame mine isn't a good one.....it's day will come...
To be fair, I bought mine for £400 with a blown engine and didn't know anything about E30s at the time. I got lucky as the body is mostly sound, but it does have rust, the interior is in a bad state really and it has 143k up on the clock. I've since put a heap of cash into the car and could have bought an 'ok' sport for the amount I spent (parts only, did work myself).

Perhaps some sellers are just asking less due to financial circumstances requiring a quick sale?

as said, gone up if anything, the real nice ones dont come up for sale often and if they do they are sold to people in the know and never get put on ebay/piston heads etc
i got very very very lucky with mine, paid just over scrap money for it, 84k, low owners, good history and solid
