My Careless Neighbor....

Well i was relaxing last night after a hard week at work only to answer the door to my neighbor who had just reversed into my 325 after 'not seeing it because of how black it was'...
I wen't out to have a look trying my best not to show my true emotions and found myself saying things to her like "Accidents Will Happen" and "Its very dark that street".

Here's a couple of pics... I refuse to go through my insurance after a similar thing happened to my on my last car, someone crashed into it when it was parked and as a result I got kicked off my insurance with no repair due to 'modifications' ha,

So either looking to replace the wing, or repair this one,

Would be very grateful for any advice or if anyone can help please give me a shout

A skilled panel beater should sort out that crease; it's just a matter of finding one. Since the wing would have to come off to repair it anyway (unless they use all sorts of fancy weld-on nails and slide hammers) you might be better off sourcing a replacement one. There are plenty of Diamond Metallic black wings out there.

As for the bumper; wet sanding on the plastic and then heat treatment should sort it out. Petrol might rub off the residue on the painted part of the bumper; can't tell from the pics how badly its scratched.

How much has your neighbour offered?

new wing, new bumper trim, new grille, then your going to have to replace the other grille/bumpr trim so it looks right, re paint the bumper and wing , buy used ones tou can at least keep the wing as a spare, but that ding in it looks quite sharp, and trouble is is depending on the bonnet and door how it looks with a newly painted wing it may look shite, all depends on how overall nice the car is and what you think of her, anywhere from £250-500 you could charge her

Just get some good secondhand parts in the right colours and bolt them on. I'd be trying to keep it as cheap as possible and treating it as if it was my own money. No point trying to screw her for as much as you can, just be grateful for her honesty rather than trying to cash in on it!

As Malcolm says, At least she had the decenscy to own up.

See if you can source a good diamond black wing bumper and tot up the cost.

Ask her what her excess is (regardless of not wanting to go through the insurance) and chances are, the cost of the bits plus a bit for fitting yourself will be less.

It costs her less.
You know its done right and you have not ended up with a CAT D

Everyones a winner.
