Hi
Do any members on here know 'Gaszman' in such a way as to have his contact details outside the forum please?
I work with Corgi models doing text and research for their range of models of classic cars.
We are intending to make a model of what I think is his car, 325 sport 2 door, D322 YDP because it was used by Motor mag for a road test. Its an ex press fleet car I think.
If you could please ask him to contact me that would be much appreciated.
Either call me on 07740 463196
Or email me
johnlakey@gmail.com
This is not a wind up! Often people think that but just put my name below into google and you will see that I am a journalist whose specialism is classic cars.
I've joined the forum just to find the owner of this car because I put the number plate into google and saw a couple of posts on here. Sadly I don't own an E30, although I do own an Opel Monza:)
Thanks
John

I'd be very wary about giving out any details that would allow him to locate you, maybe even worth checking direct with Corgi he is legit and now just using the guys name, odd how he's using a Google mail account and not a more official looking work one.
They can make a generic model of the car, only thing they would maybe need from you is permission to use your reg but do Corgi even make such detailed collector type models.
Maybe legit but I'd be very

until he can prove he works for Corgi.

With road car models that Minichamps do you can send off and get them to make you up a number plate in you chosen reg and national style. I've got a 1:43 M3 Sport Evo with the form to fill in. My guess is that the White Sapphire you're mate has has had that done.

I hope these models are accurate, IE with rust holes/patches/ P40 strands poking out from the arches/ jacking points deleted/misted up windows etc

I guess it will be down to the individual 'detailer' to add that level of accuracy,Pete!

Mentioned this today to the chap who's going to be painting my car. He said something similar happened to a bloke up the road who's in the Capri Club. They came round and took all the measurements of the car and took photos and made this model -

You say that about using a gmail account, but you know how easy it is to get an email address at your own domain? Would certainly be worth it for scamming... Actual scams work better though using addresses like free email accounts. If you get in the door with blatant scams addresses you've hit your lowest common denominator user... The easiest to scam. Hence why people still try use "you've won the Nigerian lottery" to get people. Your chance of converting the user is much higher and you can put less effort in... Win win.
Defo check it out though! Imagine having a corgi model of your own car! Talk about vindication also! No one can tell you your sad for liking old cars if people are interested enough to make full blown scale models of it!

Sounds good would be nice to see more E30 models available. To whet the appetite. An old Corgi model of mine recently recovered from the loft. Did look a bit better than this before my 2 yr old had it for a few days.
Not had the kit off or carpets up yet - but she looks solid!

Just need to touch in the bottom of the wings, scuttle and rear arches with some rust coloured paint for that authentic Tech 1 Sport look............

This isnt the actual one but its exactly the same as the one i had.
It is described as a 325i by corgi but its clearly got the pre sept '85 front valence and the early aero kit which would make it a 323i.
Lets hope corgi's next E30 model is a bit more accurate!
