Name that part... steering alignment edition

I have a 87' 318i and the steering alignment is way off.

I dropped the car into a local place to get sorted and they were unable to do it. They told me the name of the part I needed to replace and I just cannot remember what it was called.

So, to fix the alignment regularly you would adjust [PART X]. The ones on my car have seized and because they are hollow, any heat normally applied would just bend them out of shape.

Need to be replaced to fix the alignment, I assume modern ones are not hollow.

WHAT IS [PART X]? It was something with a very non-distinct sounding name, I just can't remember what it was!

Anyone help me out, or had a similar issue with the alignment?

You will need COMPLETE track rod assemblies. Meatballs , our tame ECP man will sort you out a good deal. Do not be tempted to just by ends /inners. Buy the COMPLETE assembly. About one hours work to fit them. Might be worth getting a couple of rack gaiters as they may well be goosed and there is no extra labour involved if changed with the track rods.

Cheers for heads up lads. We get this sorted soon. My wrists are starting to hurt from physically keeping the car straight!
