Morning all. I won't get much of a chance to zone myself up today whilst at work so for the more lucky of you I'll pose this...
What work do you need to do to your car?
I'll start off
Power Steering leak
Swap drivers door lock (after changing door)
rear arches
straighten up pretty much the whole front end
sort out idle (maybe air leak)
front suspension swap
no doubt more but hey, that's half the fun

Morning hoshy !
hope you are ok mate, good luck and have fun with those changes !
My next moves are:
Waiting mint 3 spoke steering wheel in the post
Change tie rod so I can pass MOT next week
Awaiting dizzy cap and rotor arm from Sal (Cheers mate !) and change the one (burnt) sitting in my car now.
finish -laquer- some touch-ups in the door edges and the sunroof
Check brake pipes for the MOT
Put new boot + spoiler in the back and throw away the b*stard that my car has at the moment
and later on
Sort out the front thanks to a stupid mishappen a month ago
Sort out a leak in the boot - coming from the light cluster
Sort out some rust in the boot

Not a whole lot really other than what ever is needed for the MOT next month (dont think it will need much) and give the front and rear valances and the front edges of the rear arches a cleanup and respray. Other than that, nothing as it runs like new. I will be looking to sell it soon after the MOT is done and buy a 325i.

no, life becomes a bit empty when there are no jobs/projects that need doing. It makes me start to think about pointless things like illuminated gear knobs!

My next few jobs are :
Fit Magnecor ignition leads when they arrive.
Find and fit 2 new doors (rust bubbles on the bottom edge).
Fit E36 steering rack when I get hold of the conversion pipes.
Fit the thicker 325i front struts complete with new shocks.
Fit lumpy camshaft with modified 320i head.
Fit lightened flywheel (not a job I'm looking forward to).
Sort out a few patches of surface rust on the sills.
Find a good bonnet when funds allow.
Have a new rear apron fitted and sprayed (rust from badly repaired accident damage).
New electric aerial and cable (the red one from front to back, as it's fooked).
3.73 diff when funds allow.
Replace rear discs and pads with performance items (I keep cooking the rears).
Fit a new set of headlamp wiper blades that some thieving twat nicked last week

.
Find and fit an iS lip.
Still got a lot of mods to fit

, there's not much original about this car now
Cheers,
Iain T

Wasters!!
I bought some new ones for my old sport, just popped in and ordered them one day, not thinking to ask how much they were, went back, and they were just over Ԛ£5 each!!
Pretty sure GSF or ECP supply them, can't remember which though!

Complete conversion to turbo power

Fit the Wilwoods
Weld a patch on the N/S cill
Get an MOT
Get Tax
Run in engine / sort out the many inevitable glitches
Get mapped at Emerald.
-THEN-
Get the bits of rot sorted out and the paint brought up to scratch.
Buy some wheels from Image as the ones on there at the moment look gay.
It's so (vaguely) close!

This is a goody. No particualr order, except the first item is immediate priority:
Sort idle / rich running (prolly temp sensor - running cool / rough at low revs)
Clean interior
Fit new gearknob
New steering wheel (love the tech II but it's too big)
Check groaning steering at full lock during manoeuvres
Refurbish drivers seat (small tear in base, general creakiness)
Clean exterior
OSR centre cap needs replacing
Replace rusted screws on sidemarkers
Re-attach front spoiler to central clips
Re-touch front spoiler
Replace rusty fuel filler neck (can this be done easily?)
Re-touch / respray to body to original condition
Suspension (ride is sufficiently firm but car a little too high, esp. at rear)
Induction Kit
SSE (the standard decat actually sounds quite fruity though)
Mild chip to optimise power mods
I'll no doubt find out more when it goes to the garage for a diagnostic....
Ah, the joys of an old car......

my cabs going in at last this week for a 2.7 full rebuild. My mechanics been ill and i dont have the time or the experties to do it myself. Gotta sort out a few scratches on the bonnet, the neighbours cat decided to leave for me. Damm cold nights, warm bonnets and the lack of garage space.
Then find a sweet set of 17 or 16" alloys to finish it off ready for summer. Oh a some speaker upgrades if i get chance. Apart from that shes pretty much sorted.
