While over on sxoc.com, a couple of guys went to Torque Developments for a RR day, its in the South East.

Got to say a bit Max powerish, although I`m sure its a nice car. Would not say its sees a track, so it must be a garage queen. Shame.

Not to keen on the following things Cross drilled disks - No thanks, Must be running Alpha N or Maff or some aftermarket ECU as no AFM. This is good for the M3 but what a horrible air filter. I know not everybody wants a CF airbox and thats fine, but there are better ways than that bugs eye airfilter.

Rims are pants too.

Besides the above, nice and clean.

Yeah but those drilled discs will crack if used hard/properly

Hey thats my dads car and nice photos

drilled discs crack under extreme heat because they are effectively weaker than normal vented ones. imagine driling through the disc in all those places; it weakens them alot, and under extreme heats as they expand, they crack a lot easier.

its common for drilled discs to crack on any performance car. i fail to see how if cools them more anyway?

I think the drilling is to allow gases to escape, rather than cooling.
If enough gas comes out of the pads under hard braking, it can form a 'cushion' between the pad and disc, reducing braking ability.

The cracking of drilled discs is a well known problem, the only ones with any resistance to cracking I've heard of are the factory Porsche ones because the holes are actually cast in them, not drilled, and they have still been known to crack.

Much better off using grooved discs, as they're less likely to crack, still allow some gas escape through the grooves, and also the grooves can help prevent glazing of the pads

That's what Brake Fade actually is. A build up of Gas between the pad and disc. People seem to think its the pads getting to hot and loosing adhesion, but the truth is they cant even get to the disc!

As you say not ALL drilled discs will crack. Thats why I pulled you up on it. Only the crappy ones. (Which these may be, but I cant say for certain) Other thing on Grooved is that they are supposed to help degalze the pad slightly, but its not all that effective.

It was in for the Brembo brakes H&R coilover was going to have CF air intake but would not fit had the strut brace sway bars and anti roll bars and new engine managment which isn't finished and also had those wheels put on. no i dont mind you posting pics

Which my dad drove something like that. Very nice has he had it long?
