E30 Zone

Has any one come up with a way of securing there bbs centre caps on their wheels without some sticky fingered chav nicking them...

My mates e30 has had its center caps stolen and they even scratched a cross in his paintwork whilst at it. he's an OEM homo and his paintwork was literally mint. I saw his car without the caps and it makes the car look a bit on the shite side.

I would hate to return to my car and have my caps missing and on top of that having the ball ache to replace them

Climb into your boot, wait for the little b@stard to begin mooching then jump out with a breaker bar and fukc the scally over the head as hard as possible. Job done.

I parked my cabby in London once only to come back and find my front and side clear indicators missing.

ive taken mine off for that exact reason; i put them on when im driving it and know i wont be leaving it anywhere

so sad that we have to do that in this country

Don't think you can ! I found one nicking my guttering and booted him called the police and have heard nothing ! 3 months now !

silicon sealant will delay them from nicking the caps - if they cant get them off straight away, they might leave!

That reminds me - i have some negaro silver ones i need to put up for sale!

Remove them when your not using the car is the best method. Or buy more every time they get nicked.

Apart from not having any fitted, dont leave your car in public is the only prevention

It is also possible to drill a small hole through and countersink it, then use a small self-tapping screw to secure them.

It's barely noticeable and they'll need a screwdriver to undo the screw before they can remove them. Make it as awkward as possible, then they are deterred from bothering, or at least delayed in making off with the loot.

Locking yourself in would be a little silly. Purely for the reason you sited.

Screwing them to the wheels is a bit overkill, id rather just take them off if I had to leave the car on a public car park regularly

i just pull them off takes a minute put them in the boot, only way!

Electrify them, can't wait to see the feckers with straight hair when it should be curly....

Problem is 12V is not enough

Take em off and put them away, thats what i did i can live without the wheels looking as good as they should.

I take them off when the cars staying somewhere for more than a few days in a row. Nice now since moving out of London, I have the privilege of having a drive... Although I know that won't stop theives if they want them... Little buggers.. everywhere..

They are a favourite for dubscum, as are red BBS stickers off ebay

It's probably all e30 owners stealing of each other to make up for the loss of their stolen caps!

Thats why my turd goes in the garage at night, reduces the amount it gets wet and stops toe rags lifting bits off it...

I'm for taking them off when the car is left.

As said it only takes a couple of minutes and makes sure that the caps will be there when you return -

at least it will if the car hasn't being taken

I also remove the fuel relay and take that with me, just to make it a little more awkward for them to just take the car.
