Just got some new goodies for the garage queen
They need a clean but fabric is in good order!
Came with a interesting cup holder, but swapping plastics over.
Also has flashy red lights

Which my current ones do not.
Also got some new shiny fog lights. Today is a good day!

They look nice and clean. Reminds me of a windows 95 desktop background.

Yea they seem in good shape. I'm relieved, sending them back to Germany would be a pain in the arse! and the language barrier doesn't help much.
Houndstooth reminds me of tweed!

I think it's just a cheap universal one. It just screws into the plastic.

It's a classy touch

I've got a set of Hounstooth Recaro LS's in good nick. Apparently they came out of a South african E30. They are for sale but as you can imagine, they are not cheap.

What give it away!!
I could tempt myself into it, but I just bought the heated seat bits and bobs from bm which cost a bloody fortune
but they would be a nice addition

You can use the heated seat bits with the recaros.

In early cars IS trim is a total fail
Early cars need early trim, it is properly retro and cool

O i Know... I think Keiran has them fitted in his leather recaro ls's??
I'm trying to restrain myself. Instead of spending so much on the interior I should really sort out the rest of the car first...
That would be the sensible thing to do so ill probably end up doing the opposite
I'd be worried about recaro's taking away from the originality of the car?
verde wrote:Cannot get into the houndstooth at all. IS check is the way ahead
Check seats remind me of Burberry
I like the Alpina interior or the cloth motorsport interior that came in some evolution's..... but houndstooth is the cat's Pajamas!!!

Firstly, rare parts dont come up often so they should take priority.
Mechanical, body and paint can be sorted any time but rare parts like nice Recaro LS in houndstooth dont come along every day.
As for originality, the car is now mega low mileage unrestored pebble beach concours contender and they were an option after all.

I've collected alot of little morsels as I've came across them, there's only a few things im yet to get
O the car will never be a concours contender by any stretch of the imagination lol but its my little project or labour of love. Originality might of been the wrong word.

Please dont get me wrong, i didnt mean it as a put down or anything. Just being realistic and originality isn't paramount.

Don't worry I wasn't crying into my tea, I was off watching "Argo"
I understand what your saying about picking up rare bits. Especially if the condition is there. LS houndstooth recaro's are practically elusive . I've only seen one other set for sale & its dated 2010 iirc.
I'm realistic about originality, fitting coilovers and e46 power steering is on the to-do-list. It's more the appearance of originality

& one worry I'd have about LS recaro's would be they might be seen as a boy racer mod by those (many) who wouldn't know they are a factory option.
Not that I should worry about what others think but you get my drift?

I wouldnt see them as a boy racer mod and I doubt others would either. They are in the matching factory cloth trim after all.
Keiran used a mint hounds tooth set to retrim! Bad man!
Shakeele30 has/had a very tidy set. Might be worth a pm.
My ever first E30 I bought 10 years ago also had a set. At the time I didnt know how rare they were!

THIS !!!
i love the darker anthracite is check, but only suits an m3 or sport facelift with the black headlining, seat backs, console etc,or in cabbys it looks great, but as duke says it wouldnt be right in a pre facelift, houndstooth is pre facelift king of cool

As bad as they look it'll look even worse once they are removed. They'll be holes and looking at how much houndstooth fades the seat will probably be a different colour underneath if they've been on a long time
