When sh1t goes sour, garage fire with my e30 in there UPDATE

I'm afraid i haven't got any pictures to upload cos i was balling my eyes out at the time but my track prepped e30 touring which has been my pride and joy for the last 5 year went up in smoke last night.
945pm there was a fire noticed by my neighbour, by the time i got to the garage it was too late, the e30 is toast, as is the rest of the garage and contents.
I cant remember feeling this gutted for a long time, proper pit of my stomach stuff.
Worst thing is its booked in for its MOT today, just finished getting it ready.
And wed 15th i was supposed to be at a DWYB at santa pod then 7th sept i was taking it to the Nurburgring.
Gutted, totally, absolutely gutted.
RIP Angel, G661XPM

that is ridiculously cruel. The absolute definition of irony. I hope your insurance company are forthcoming & there are no loopholes in your home contents cover. Just hope all works out, that is seriously seriously harsh

Well the car was insured fully comp with an agreed valuation and ALL mods declared, even down to brand names and the pads fitted to it and the house insurance should cover the garage contents so hopefully, fingers crossed, there'll be some light at the end of the tunnel.
Proper gutted tho, so much time, effort, money, blood, sweat and tears have gone into that car.

Those being the things you can't get back.. I stick to the addage that every cloud has a silver lining, but also, when all said and done, noone was hurt. your cat wasn't in there..

Shame dude, i read your build thread with great enthusiasm.
Goes to show its always best to declare everything to the insurers.

Really sorry to hear this. Real pity that you lost all those snap-on tools also, that'll be expensive for the Insurance to replace

I think the rear suspention might be worth having but the insurers took the car today so i've got to wait to see what they say really.
Rest of it is toast.
Guess i'll be taking the vw passat round the ring next month

I have a feeling it's going to take months mate, insurance companies are an absolute disgrace when it comes to paying out based on past experience
Hope it gets sorted soon

Fire brigade turned up in less than 10 minutes but we've had all the assessors round now for the buildings and contents and the garage needs a whole new roof, on a 3 car garage thats a big job! Dads well happy lol.
Also, spoke to my car insurance today, they're talking to the underwriter because the car didn't have an MOT at the time of the fire.
Is anyone an insurance expert on here? There was one guy but i cant remember his name. Can anyone help?
Car was booled in for its MOT the very next day, and i have proof of that. I'm a fully qualified Audi tech as well as an MOT tester so i know my sh1t, that car was in the best condition its ever been that night

new law mate last year. has to have tax, insurance no MOT needed as car is not on the road as you say you garage it = cover... or on a SORN = no cover
if there was a MOT on the car before with that mod you got, you shouldn't have no probs really as it wasnt on the road at the time of the fire
Dont take any shit from them have everything in writing via email
