spare wheel

Hi all,can someone tell me is it legal to use a 14inch wheel as a spare when your running 15s,Thanks.
I have a steel 14'' with a 195/65 tyre as my spare in the touring,so I hope it's legal!
Given that most modern cars are equipped with a skinny 'space saver' spare,I cannot see any problems.
