Hi guys, not sure if posted here before, but was able to purchase a few headers from RD.

listed them here ...

http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread ... 061&page=4

this are the original M20 e30 headers, RD had a new jig made for them. they fit left and right hand drive cars, really.

cheerios,
Frank

How much, shipped to UK?

The sale price comes out at 550 quid, plus whatever the shipping is (at today's exchange rates). How does that compare to the price of a BTB3?

Purely ask as to whether this could compete with the existing domestic manifold. I know the Racing Dynamics manifold is the stuff of legend, so it would be interesting to see how this 25-year-old design compares with a modern product.

also import duty, which is calculated on the total cost inclusive of shipping, however it's said to be one of the best. btb rival? who knows.

@OP, should it be used with an X piece in the downpipe?

That's good news, if rd are willing to make new jigs etc then there is clear indication to some of the doubters that the money is coming back into these cars.
Headers look good, any idea what the diameters and tube lengths are?
Will these clear an e36 steering rack?
Is the collector merge the same as in the e30tech picture?
Will these be coming with x pipes?

Aloha,

- PeteE30Tourer, Price in US $ 849 + s/h.

- Grrrmachine, thanks for exchange conversion., I am too interested on comparing performance between various headers, I'm running $ 275 headers (SS copy's) at the moment with a real Super Sprint muffler, also resonators instead of cat convertor.

- Barx325i, you could use X pipes with them, Im running dual X's set up, one comes just off headers at o2 mounting point and one just after catalic convert. here's a few pics of my current setup, not preatty ... http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=171275

- HairyScreech,

a) Federico (RD's owner) though he had the old rigs, not so., he ended up dusting off his old car, sent it to Italian manufacturers, once there they remove original headers and made a jig with them.

b) I'll ask Robert at www.e30motorwerks.com to measure them as sent them to his shop for shipping/storage.

c) I'm running a e36 m3 short steering rack (95/96 i think), so I'll be able to confirm in a few days, I don't see why not at the moment.

d) This are the actual pictures of them taken yesterdayn notice RD tag location is different than original 25 old headers... http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/album.php?albumid=7778

I did not want any confusion, hence my hesitation to use old pics to show them at the start of sale treads.
Please let me know if there's a specific angle or view you'll like of them, I'll ask Robert to snap a few more pics and take measurements, they are suppost to be same as original units.

e) No, they dont come with X pipes, just the headers. they are design to bolt on to your oem pipes as not to have any sort of ground clearance issues., there was an X on my oem setup, just at the point where pipes are paralel to ground after engine bay. Long gone now.

Alternative shipping, if there's a minimum of 5 units, I could have them foward direct to UK from Italy, ther should be some savings and if so I'll adjust price accordently as my expenses will be less then.

I'm on Hawaii and headers in SoCal shop, so please bare with me., cheers.

Mahalos
Frank

btw, thanks for pasanger side sunvisor, need it one from you guys as our drivers side don't have the "I'm so fabulous mirror" or in my case a iC rear view mirror, lol.
oh, and the MT1 tall cabrio sideskirts too. took me 8 years to find.

If the headers are based in Italy, then I'm sure you'll find someone willing to organise a group buy of 5 to bring them into the UK.

It will be interesting to see how they compare with other headers. We have a list of manifolds in the Wiki, some with Dyno charts, so if one of these can be dyno tested as well then I'll post the results in the Wiki too.

Are these manifolds stainless steel? best suited for turbo cars or do they work well with standard cars too?

I have a standard BMW exhaust at the momment but going to upgrade to the Magnex system will this manifold mate up okay?

Many thanks!

I don't think you understand how you go about installing a turbo on a car.

These manifolds are for a non turbo engine and have equal length headers to optimise power. And yes, they will mate up to a magnex system providing it is a 3 part one
