Just wondering if m20b25 parts can be used on an m20b20 to increase performance or just improve the engine?
Thanks

I would use tho whole thing is it wasn't broken ha. Just wanna know what bits I could take off it, so I could fit to my 2.0 what about the injectors?

Think the injectors are different.

They are different part numbers.

Pointless, a bit like a 320 engine :)

a) it's pointless. You can't improve an M20b20.

b) the dead M20B25 you have is so old that its parts will be incompatible with most other engines you find. The injectors will have the wrong impedance for a start.

just buy a good m20 b25 and enjoy 50bhp more power with the same fuel consumption .

Or go straight to M52B28, and enjoy 70 - 90 bhp more with improved fuel consumption.

I was wanting to do the same. Use the 2.5 intake and bigger cam but the power gains for what would be abismal fuel consumption isnt worth it. Il wait til im 20/21 then just man up and m52 it

might be worth pulling the pistons out however as you might get £50 for them if they are high comp.
take the sump off and keep it as spare, stick the loom etc on ebay.

Don't tell me - he's replacing the shagged 325i engine with a 320i donk?

Only this guy would do that..................

does the 2.0 sound better than the 2.5? I'd have a vrooooom over 50bhp any day.

The B20 is super-smooth and sounds good at high revs, but they do lack low-down torque. One often overlooked advantage is that the 731 heads tend to be more durable than the 885 head on the 325i, and less prone to cracking.

You can use the 325i (173/380) ECU, fitted with a 320i chip, although I've heard of people running them with the 325i chip - whether this is effective or not, I don't know...

My recent overheat seems to have not managed to damage my head on my B20.
