Been offered a lachs silver, 5dr, 325ix. Lhd, couldnt find any rust apart from a tiny bit on the rear valance and a small bubble appearing on a pillar but not deadly. The arches, scuttles, battery tray, sills, doors, towers, general car is rust free. Seems un-tampered minus euro trash like small mirrors affixed to the mirrors, factory original tow hook with built in light sockets
Around 150km on the clock, interior is clean minus the typical ripped drivers seat.
Very tempting, I have no idea on the values.. He said i can drive it away for £1800
Thank you for that.. Thats the one ive been offered
I thought they were worth much more to be honest im quite suprised..
Think ill pass and keep the sport

the iX is the one E30 where the mechanicals really matter. You need to check the condition of the transfer case and rear diff, since replacements are monstrously expensive. The rear diff is a viscous type, and if it hasn't been serviced in 20 years it'll be very close to knackered by now.
If it hasn't got any BMW service history, I would go over 1000.

I know that car, I was in it during the snow last winter the 4wd works exellent we were 4 wheel snow drifting the turd where many cars were stuck !!
it is very solid and runs good IIRC it changed hands for around a grand.
if you do buy it I have since acquired a drivers seat in the same pattern/colour !!

1 k max 4wd and extra weight is not what most people want from an e30

If someone can vouch for the mechanicals (e30topless) and the car has no rust issues, then I reckon it's worth more than a grand, and close to his asking price. I know Quattro Ist Fur Sissies, but the 325iX can be a real hero in adverse weather conditions; exactly the sort of climate that leaves all other E30s wrapped around trees.

The 325ix is worth less in this country than a normal e30 in the same condition.
No motorsport connotations so it was never made to be a sporting car. Just a lhd e30 with more oversteer so just rubbish.

Have you ever been behind the wheel of a ix ?

I'd love an iX (touring) they're cool - and a great basis for a turbo conversion with _actual traction_ if you feel the need.

No. And don't have any desire to ever drive one.

I drove one once, a Touring. I can't say I was overly impressed.

Fair enough, BUT how can you mark down a car without even road testing
one, not looking for an argument was just wondering.
As for the value of them there are very few takers for them, a pal of mine has one
which he got for a lot less than the asking price due to the lack of popularity ( worldwide ) it drives as it should, being lhd kills it for me tho.

In snowy conditions like winter over here (Sweden) the ix is fantastic, I've driven one for 7 years (my dad's). E30 with open diff is useless in comparison, I've only used mine one winter. Not much snow in the UK though.
