heckspoiler now fitted, comments welcome good or bad

Hi guys just fitted a heckspoiler to my convertible, but can't decide if I like it or preferred it without, promised myself I wouldn't fit a tech2 spoiler, as think they look a little odd on a convertible.

Any suggestions/comments welcome good or bad.

I've got to be honest I prefer it without. But if you like it that's all that matters. I'm normally wrong.

With looks fine Matt...oh and that's an MTech1 spoiler BTW (people usually refer the small boot lip spoilers as heckspoilers)

Looks sweet enough. These are by far the best looking E30 spoiler anyway.

Other than it lookinjg like its fitted a bit out of line it looks better with. I have the very same Tech 1 spoiler on my cab and love it. The rubber bit makes it very retro.

Linseed oil brings the rbber up a treat and costs a couple of pounds from a supermarket.

Cheers lads, you learn something new everyday about these cars, not a bad buy at £20 though for a £70+ spoiler

I've always preferred the cab without a spoiler - it just looks cleaner, especially with the hood down. It's all down to personal taste though.

I think it depends on the colour of the cab. to some degree. I have a black one with a spoiler, and prefer that with it, but it wouldn't look right at all on my neon blue one.
One upside of a spoiler it it's visible in the mirror, and shows my (normally touring driving) wife exactly where the back of the car is.

I prefer without, they look so much better with the hood down and no spoiler :D

That looks like Mtech1 spoiler, yeah looks nice, leave it on.!

My 325i cab has a heckspoiler and it looks great. Yay to spoilers.! :P

I like it with IMO, plus yes you can see the back of the car, creating less risk of hitting the wall ;)

Can I ask, what did you use to fit this on?

I dont really fancy drilling into my boot as I only recently purchased a new one due to rot.

But I have the 'heckspoiler' that is just the black lip on its own.

Looks good.. But I'd say a cab in that colour looks better without.. :D

No spoiler, but fit rear head rests. Thats how a cab should be.

to fit one properly, you will need to drill six small holes in the bootlid, for the six studs to fit through and be secured with palstic 10mm nuts on the underside.
or you could cut off the studs and try the often derided but indisputedly effective Tiger Seal 8O

+1, make sure you measure it up quite a few times, as its hard to get the measurements right, also hammerite and silicone holes with washers underneath to prevent rust and leaks.

Yeh I dont want to cut the studs off the spoiler but then again I dont want to drill holes in my boot. ha

oh well i guess i'll just sacrifice the studs
Cheers

Buy another boot lid that's already got holes!!

Taking the studs off the spoiler is going to leave it worthless in the future.

Rav you're so tight if you shoved a lump of coal up your ass you'd have a diamond in a week :chuckle:

Convertibles look better without, saloons look better with IMO
