Was a cool car. Although though owner now sounds a bit of a 'tard.

Looks like a nice cheap fixer-upper for someone! Bet it's surprised a few people!

Yes its Andys old one.
Legendary M30, iirc its a B10 bottom end with a cammed ported hemi head with a massive TB and puts down around 250hp.
Edit; just re read the ad.
M30 B35 engine that was built using an Alpina crank and M5 pistons
E34 5 speed gearbox with short shift
Emerald ECU
Schrick cam
Twin bore throttle body from a 4.5ltr Mustang
Custom built inlet system with BMC airbox
V6 cosworth coil pack
It was originally mapped to 265 bhp using E85 bio fuel but I had it remapped to use unleaded so now makes 250 bhp

Yeah vaguely remember that because of the colour and wheels! A bit of TLC and some fettling and could be a nice car again. Doesn't look like it's been looked after though

That car is the only M30 powered turd that I've ever seen put on a decent turn of speed on a drag strip. Andy was thumping it down the pod all day at the show a few years back

That was one of the first things I saw on the zone along with Glen's V8 swap into a chromie.
Shame the website that Andy made is no longer up because it detailed a lot of the build.

from the look of it that thing has been abused, why sell a car with the freaking exhaust hanging off??

A lot of people are running out of money and motivation I suppose.
The most clueless statement in that advert has to be,
"No choke but it will always start regardless of how cold it is. "

Didn't this have S38 throttle bodies when Andy had it?

You get me, this needs some love thrown at it.
I'm really tempted, but too many cars at the moment & not enough space.
I'd love to see the original build thread.

could mean it has no idle control valve (not a physical choke you pull out)
my metro with throttlebodies and an emerald ecu doesnt have an idle control valve, it's all mapped into the ignition and fueling with temperature collections. still starts and runs fine in even the coldest contitions, but not as smoothly or cleanly as a factory car with proper air bleed idle setup.

What a brilliant fixer-upper, doesn't need that much doing to it.
With a bit of TLC this could be a fantastic sport wagon, just needs a new owner that will love her once again. If I had the space I'd buy her up in a snap. Although I just can't justify owing 4 BMWs... lol

I wondered if this would find its way on here.
To answer some of your questions.
Firstly yes it was Andy335's touring.
The exhaust is not hanging off . . . Andy had trouble fixing it on straight, and its still as he left it.
Its an E30 M3 scorpian box mated to the standard M30 manifold, this is how it is, afterall, its not OEM.
@Maxfield, A 'tard eh ? . . . you tosser, LOL . . . Its STILL a cool car !
Have you heard it ? No ? . . . Well believe me, its a mix of a growl AND a howl at high revs, it'll make the hairs on the back of yer neck stand up
@Tom, yes mate, its wiped a few smiles off peoples faces, it's really good entertainment especially with the best piece of kit for any "Q" car, a tow bar
Re the choke, It has no choke on the throttle body whatsoever. Possibly its as Harry P says, that its handled by the Emerald ECU as it is runs rough when cold.
In all if thats the worst you guys have come up with then TBH, then I'm flattered
I've not been able to throw as much love and affection at it as it really deserves as I have another major project on the go thats taking too much time and money.
If I start putting effort into the Touring it'll be at the expense of this and that would be just wrong ....

Thanks, I'm hoping to get it back on the road very soon. It's had loads of work done over a period of time and its been in the garage all the while so I've not been able to drive in between jobs.
I'm aching to get it back out after all the work and the waiting to see how it drives

Have you ever driven it or was it bought as a project?
I still sorely miss mine and if I had the chance would have another in an instant.

Didn't know this car but glad I've seen it,
Same colour as mine with similar wheels, now I know how mine will look, just a pity it won't go as this one apparently does !

Sorry about referring to the choke comment as "clueless" which does sound a bit strong on reflection but I still don't think it sounds quite right.
Good luck with the sale.
Love the Lancia and did you see the video I posted with the rally versions in Other Marques?

Yes, I'd been driving the car for a couple of years before taking it off the road with a problem I couldn't get sorted. Now that I've had the cash to get it sorted and a guy with the knowledge to do the work its finally getting done.
The major differences from before are the coilovers and its been fully polybushed.
Other work includes . . .
The rear axle has been off and split down so now has new diff cage bushes, diff oil and seals, UJs re-greased and new boots. I bought it with a damaged 1st to 2nd syncro and then later 3rd started having problems so its had a full gearbox rebuild and new clutch while its been off. With the engine an box out we decided to change all the water and vacuum hoses which are virtually inaccessible with the engine in place, it was also an easier job to change all the belts and tensioners before the engine went back in . . .
No probs Toby, the choke is an odd thing, like I said, the only thing connected to the throttle body is the throttle cable itself and nothing else. There're no wired connections, the ECU only has control over the fuel rail and spark. The car will start in whatever condition but wont tickover when its cold, but once its had time to warm up its fine
No, not seen the video you posted, I'll go have a look now

Thanks for pointing me in that direction, the video was amazing ! . . .
I keep trying to get to somewhere like Chatsworth house or similar to see the Historic Rally, Group B was definitely rally's glory days, I remember watching it as a kid. I still remember the Stratos the first time I saw it on TV going through the forest stages, my old man had an old Ford Consul at the time so to me it was like something from another planet

I had it remapped locally by Northampton motorsport . . .
It may've lost 15bhp but its still faaaaaaaaaast
TBH it makes it a bit more drivable, before it'd want to kick its arse out all the time, I don't mind a bit of that but I prefer to have to prod it to make it go rather than it going of its own accord ! . . .
