1 hour-1 hour 30 mins to take old one out and fit new one, depending on how rusted all the bolts are etc, think you have to drop exhaust and some other bits before you can remove the tank from what I can remember.

You can't remember what's required, but you know how long it'd take you?
Priceless.
From start to finish half a day and I can remember what's involved.

about 3 or 4 hours outside a house, but up on ramps/4poster would be easier and quicker I am sure!

1-1.5 hours?
You've got to drain the tank, then take off the exhaust, the prop, the heat-shields, undo all the rusted jubilee clips that you can barely access, lift the rear seats up, disconnect all the wiring, THEN you've got a chance to get to the 5 bolts that'll be rusted in place after 20 years. Then do it all again in reverse. And all while laying on your back under jackstands.
Here's the guide for more info:

Well worth £80 to have someone do it for you, I'd say.

£80 is a bargain to do it, if you havent got access to a ramp.
Me and a friend (who runs a garage) replaced mine in 2 hours on a ramp, everything bar the actual tank had been off already so everything slipped off easy

I got Town325i to do mine, he was short of money and I couldn't be arsed. Everyone's a winner.
They are a pig though, I have removed a couple and the bolts are usually manky which makes it trickier

£80 is good if you cba with the hassle, you have to take prop off etc as in the wiki, although you cant have the rear wheels on ramps as you have to turn the prop to get at bolts (well i did maybe it was poor planning) rusty bolts and crap in your eyes awaits you. given the choice again i would pay £80.
