Goodbye E30 Hello Z3 Goodbye Z3 Hello Z4

After owning the cab for 4 1/2 years, i decided 3 weeks ago to move her on to another owner.
I was hoping she would go to a good home, and as it happened she did. The new owner owns his own auto business and has the facilities to look after her well. So not only did I get my asking price, but the car won't be abused.
The new owner had previously done some welding for me to the car,so despite the high mileage (191k) he still purchased it.
So its goodbye E30.

Can't do your hair because I can't get a dryer in the boot. I can only just get my golf clubs in !
Alex
She was 25 years old, and in a year or two would require a major refurb. So rather than spending 2k on a proper job,
I fancied a change. Plus when you get to my age, regularily bending over an engine bay is not good for my already knacked back.
I wanted a 2.2 or 2.8, but when I went to see this car it was to good to turn down. Full Service History,55000 miles,
hardly a mark on the paint work and no rust. So 13 years younger and hopefully maintenance free apart from routine servicing.
Made sense to me.I will miss the old cab, never let me down, but was high maintenance and always wanted something doing
(sounds like the misses !) You might still see it around as Rob Shepherd at RH Autos in Birtley purchased it.

The Z3 has gone, and been replaced with this brilliant Z4 2.5 47K black with red leather fsh, the old E30 seems a distant memory, i've not seen the E30 since I sold it, I hope its still alive and kicking. The only negative with the Z4, is the runflats, the steering tramlines a lot, but I plan to put non runflats on next spring.Even the number plate was perfect BHA Brighton and Hove Albion !

I've got a set of MV3's on the way, putting non run flats on next spring.
I can take all the hairdressers jokes, its worth it.

It's not an MOT fail.

I have a soft spot for Z4s and they've gone down in price too.

Not an MOT fail to have non runflats.

Can't fault you Nick, apart from the fact you should have held out
for a 3.0. :thumb:

Oh, and re the Hairdresser quips, half this lot are sporting syrups.
The other half make Alopecia sufferers look hairy.

Most Z4 owners replace their runflats with non runflats, its not an MOT failure.

Hi mick
Do you know we're my old cab went,is it still local ?
I know rob was worried about the high mileage (191k) which would effect any resale.

Is the Z4 similar in size to the E30, or is it larger?

Gbdn
I can get a carry bag into the boot, the driver fits with a bit of persuasion.boot is a fair size.
Gert8
The z4 is larger than a e30
Length 4.09m
Width 1.78m
Height 1.39m

An E30 is bigger except for width.

I suspected as much. Thanks guys. Reason for asking was to see if a Z4 soft indoor cover could be used for my cabby. :D
