Mpg on a m20 325 high comp engine?

I am getting about 55 miles out of £20 from the 325 sport engine i have just put in my e30. does this seem about right? Very juicy!!

16mpg @ 1.30L, that's very bad. Check the blue temp sensor, I suspect it's running in warm up map continuously. Does the engine get up to temp on the gauge?

I thought there was something wrong, I will check that sensor thanks for the link. does get up to temp on the gauge but occasionally goes slightly over. It does smell like its running very rich! I dont know a great deal on engines yet so any advice would be helpfull. There is no oiler cooler fitted yet I'm still to get hold of one, should it definatly have one as I know not all have one fitted? Cheers

You can get a usable DIY multi meter on ebay for about £10 to check the blue temp sensor. If it's getting warm on the gauge and holding temp then blue sensor or its wiring are the most likely suspect.

Don't bother with the oil cooler unless you're tracking it.
