Probably getting his mates to bid it up.

Looks very clean though to be fair - its the right colour if its a good shell - crying out for a proper engine

A clean black 2 door shell is worth some £££. Regardless of what you played for red turd 3yrs ago.

*insert hidden rot scaremongering here'

oooh er.. if the scuttles been replaced I doubt it'll have a roof or floor left! a world of trouble that'll be! no sills! death! bet it's got the plague too!

get a grip.. he's had the scuttle replaced.. which means he'll have seen down where rust would normally hang out AND it also means it's an E30 with a solid scuttle! :)

looks and sounds like a good honest shell! plus the fact he's admitting the scuttle was replaced and it looks a proper job from the limited pics! bet it's got a folder full of history and it looks like it's spent lots of time in that garage! even the wheels are clean!

don't forget E30's are due to rise in price... there's less of them about and even fewer are good honest clean shells.. you'll find the less desirable but cleaner stuff starting to catch up with all the rotten old sports out there!

it only costs a grand over what you paid to drop in a 2.5, change the struts and add leathers and a diff.. whereas if you take a tech 2 kit off and discover you have no sills / wings / floor left etc and the thing has been barried and ragged to death it'll cost a hell of a lot more than that!

my 320i se coupe in black i got on the bay was 1100 2 months ago,

fully running and solid as a rock. i'd say someone paid a bit too much if that was a genuine sale.

but then if it was bought for the intention to drop a different lump in it then i guess it doesn't matter.

Yeah prices have defo increased, even so, my one was completely rust free garaged all it's life, and stored sorn for 6 years during 2000, picked it for £300 in brilliant red, 8)

If you want to sell your e30 for a decent price I'd say use that listing as s guide, clean picture, mention the good points and leave out the negative!

then theres always every bit the chance someone might be royaly pi$$ed off that it was not as described when driving (maybe a fair way) to collect it, and walking away calling you a *&%$

if it is nice and clean and just engine issue...then not a bad price, sort the engine and your away, prices of such cars will start to creep up more and more, theres a bit of a "break it" culture on e30s on here, that will start to dry up more and more also with only real rotters getting the axe

They are ludicrously too small for the rims.
