Just joined the iS club.
Can anyone tell me if "Recaros" were standard on these, (H reg), or if they were an option.
What else of interest should be standard on these?

an off the shelf iS should have iS lip front spoiler, BMW Sport seats (commonly reffered to as recaros), mtech steering wheel, mtech suspension, bbs alloys, small rear spoiler a-la an SE. single outlet exhaust, dechrome, 2doors.
im sure people will add to this.
you could always delete options with bmw though, so give BMW HQ a ring and ask them for the original spec of the car.

As Scott says really, pop to your local dealer and give them the reg number. They should be able to print you out the original spec of the car.

I always thought that they all came with LSD's too (mine certainly did). but i've heard of a few that haven't, (although they may have just been changed)

On the is, the lip spoiler was actually optional not standard, and the same goes for the BBS alloys, car would have come with steel wheels with unique to the is wheel trims.
LSD was a Ԛ£396 option.

Unfortunately one option that wasn't available on the 318is was a decent engine !

I think most of the yuppie tossers buying E30's in the 80's/90's opted for the sunroof instead of the LSD, I'm pretty sure the sunroof was a more expensive option too

Ԛ£571 for a manual roof or Ԛ£745 for an electric roof.

No, Lee is just saying that when the car was bought new, the car would have just been bought for the badge other than anything else, and they would have ticked the option box for a sunroof rather than an LSD.

hmmmm, I see
I would have probably done the same too, as before I entered this site didn't have a clue of what LSD means, I am sure that happened to those yuppies too

With 23 bhp @ the spare wheel , a sunroof was probably more useful than a LSD on an IS !

no cost metallic paint option too on these, why they are all white and red is beyond me, the black, blue and silver are far nicer!!
Pacer loved rebuilding the engine on my old one!
